Mr Mitchell // Principal
"I wanted to thank all of you for being so amazing as we come back to school this year. It means a lot to me to hear and see our Grizzly pride back on our campus. 

One of the things I appreciate about us is that we treat and respect each other as family. We care about each other. With that in mind, I’d like to ask that everyone Adults and Students, remember to always wear a mask indoors. We are doing this for each other, you may be vaccinated, but your fellow Grizzly isn’t. Let’s continue to care for one another. You’re about to hear from our assistant principals who will be giving you information about.:

Our APs will be discussing You’ll get info on:

• How our dress code supports you and our learning environment as well as reflects you and your future self.

• How showing up on time sets you up for success in your classes and builds positive habits. 

• How asking for help is a sign of determination and not a sign of weakness and how you can ask for help with our counseling staff. 

• How to conduct yourself on campus, connect with adults, and get involved with your grizzly community.

It is important for us to set expectations and then share them, so that you know what grizzlies stand for and how we support you to become the best grizzly that you can be.

• Gang related attire should never be worn on campus at anytime. After working with Law Enforcement, we have identified these as “inappropriate” for our campus. Please refrain from wearing any SD, LA, Padres, Dodgers, Raiders, or White Sox attire (to include jerseys, backpacks, and hats). 

• Clothing, jewelry, and personal items shall be free of writing, pictures, or other insignia which is vulgar, lewd, obscene, profane, or sexually suggestive or which promotes the use of alcohol, drugs, tobacco, or other illegal activity. 

• Hats, caps, and other head coverings shall not be worn indoors.

• School Board Policy outlines that clothes should be sufficient to cover undergarments. See through tops and bare abdomens are prohibited. No cut off shirts, tube tops, strapless tops, see-through tops, and tops that expose the midriff are not permitted.

The school administration is the final authority when a difference of opinion arises.

Be on Time!  This means you are in the room and ready to learn when the bell rings.  If you are tardy to class you will need a pass.  Parents will be notified when you are tardy or absent. Too many tardies or absences will result in a conference with administration to determine the best method to support you in your education.

Pick up your trash. Help us keep our campus clean!
Take pride in our beautiful campus and in yourself.  It is your responsibility to pick up your food and trash. Areas on campus that have too many trash or food issues will become off limits to students.

the counseling office is a great place to go to get help and support for just about anything. The counselors, school psychologists, social workers, and other staff are here to help!

Mr Sirimanne // Assistant Principal (Em-Li)

Take pride in your community and with fellow grizzlies.

We want everyone to feel safe and welcomed at Mission Hills. And together we make that happen. If you see something that needs to be addressed please speak to an adult about your concerns.  Do not bring any object or substance to campus that is illegal or dangerous. In an effort to keep everyone safe please know that your car, locker, and backpacks can be searched at any time. 

Bring I.D.’s as they help with tardies, finance, and identifying yourself to personnel. For safety reasons, while on Mission Hills campu, at any time, any student or individual needs to identify themselves to staff members when asked.

ID make up day is Monday September 20th in Redwood Hall lobby.

Confrontation/Fights No bullying, harassment, intimidation, and/ or verbal or physical altercations will be tolerated on our campus. To prevent these situations from happening please  notify a staff member, like telling one of the AP or coming down to our office. We can speak to individuals or talk through strategies on how to avoid a possible fight or confrontation. 

Why? The key to success is to defuse the situation before it escalates. Seek help from an adult so that no one gets in trouble and it helps keep us all safe. 

If not, then there will be consequences as far as involving law enforcements, suspensions, or possibly expulsion.

Phones and Electronic Devices
MH is not responsible for phone or electronic theft. Bring at your own risk. If you do bring your phone make sure that you are using them at the appropriate times, like not during class. Make sure that you are not taking photos or videos or others without permission and that you are not posting anything that would be considered inappropriate or not represent you or mh in the best of light. In other words, use your tech for good and use it to share, highlight, support, and connect.

Get Involved Grizzlies! in something on campus, if that is a sport, club, art, or helping other grizzlies...it is important to get involved. Statistics show that getting involved in something on a school campus will prevent many of the issues that admin have spoken about in the video.
