General Info
Lacrosse is a spring sport; with official high school practices beginning in mid-February. The regular season ends in early May, and playoffs begin and finish by end of May.
The only piece of equipment players need to have on their own is the stick (crosse). The school has helmets, shoulder pads, elbow guards, and gloves to provide the players.
Players are encouraged to get their own gear once they commit to the sport.

What is Lacrosse?
Lacrosse is a fast-paced and exhilarating sport, which is full of action. Long sprints up and down the field with abrupt starts and stops, precision passes and dodges are routine in lacrosse. Lacrosse is played with a stick, which must be mastered by the player to throw, catch and scoop the ball.
Lacrosse is one of the fastest growing team sports in the United States. The sport of lacrosse is a combination of soccer and hockey. Anyone can play lacrosse—sizes big or small. The game requires and rewards, coordination and agility. Quickness and speed are two highly prized qualities in lacrosse.
The emphasis on speed, quickness, anticipation, and transition makes for a great
spectator sport, and the fact that every player handles the ball. Players must have a
basic understanding of both offensive and defensive skills, which add to the game's
complexity. Lacrosse puts a heavy emphasis on team play and group coordination. Yet,
within its framework, there is plenty of room for individual initiative.
