1. Important Dates:   Wednesday, June 8th: Senior Breakfast, Graduation Practice, Graduation Ticket Distribution  Thursday, June 9th: Graduation in Stadium – 6:00pm - 7:30pm (seniors arrive at 4:30pm) 

2. Graduation Practice – Seniors who plan to attend and participate in Graduation must attend theGraduation practice on Wednesday; no exceptions. Please make arrangements so that there are no conflicts with all scheduled practices. 

3. Graduate Parking / Reporting Time for Graduation – Graduates should park on the outdoor basketball courts (it is best to be dropped off or carpool) and report to the Plaza at 4:30pm. Please be sure to allow for extra time for the traffic congestion. 

4. Guest Parking / Important Times – Guest parking will be available in the Student Lot on Mission Road, and Mission Hills Church (off Mission Hills Court). Additional limited handicapped parking is available in the Staff Lot off Richland Road. The sheriff will close the Student Lot as soon as it is full. Stadium Gates open at 4:00pm and the student processional into the Stadium will begin promptly at 6:00pm. 

5. Tickets / Live-streaming – Five tickets per graduating senior will be distributed at Graduation Practice on wednesday, June 8t after completing practice. In order to receive tickets, Senior financial obligations must be paid and all books and chrome books returned. All children over the age of 2 must have a ticket to enter the stadium. Tickets are watermarked and cannot be reproduced and there are no extra tickets to distribute. The school website will have a link to a livestreaming of the ceremony on the day of Graduation. 

6. Graduate Check in Process – Graduates are to report to the Plaza at 4:30pm with cap and gown in hand. Cell phones, sunglasses, signs, cameras, electronic devices, etc., and other non-Mission Hills regalia is strictly prohibited. Any prohibited items will be collected at check in and may be claimed at the snack bar/press box after Graduation. 

7. Guest Seating / Prohibited Items – No folding chairs, coolers, personal banners, signs, balloons, other items that may obstruct viewing/seating, air horns, or silly string will be permitted in the stadium. Umbrellas may be used for sun protection but must be closed at the announcement prior to the ceremony. Guests may enter with sealed, disposable water bottles only and all bags are subject to search. Open containers and/or food is not permitted. 

8. Graduate Behavior / Clothing – The Graduation ceremony is a formal, dignified event to recognize the noteworthy accomplishment of our graduates. Appropriate behavior and dress are critical components of the ceremony. a. Students will be removed from the ceremony for inappropriate behavior and the diploma will be held until student and parent meet with the principal. b. Any senior involved in senior “pranks” and/or vandalism may not be allowed to participate in the Graduation ceremony. It is imperative students maintain appropriate behavior. c. Graduates are not to wear any ornaments (beads, leis, flowers, pins, etc.) or other non-Mission Hills approved adornments outside the gown. Caps may not be altered in any way. d. All students are to wear comfortable low-heeled,  dark dress shoes (no athletic/skate shoes or flip flops), dresses, dress shirts, and/or nice slacks. Graduates who do not follow the dress requirements may not participate in the ceremony. e. Gowns should be neat and wrinkle-free; DO NOT use a hot iron as it will damage the gown. Gowns should be carried into the Plaza and not worn. Tassels are worn on the right side of the cap. Caps should be worn squarely on the head parallel to the ground. Bobby pins may be needed to secure the cap. Staff will assist graduates with their gowning prior to the ceremony. 

9. Diplomas – Graduates may pick up diplomas on Friday, June 10th through Tuesday, June 14th at the Attendance Office windows. Graduates will need their student identification card or a driver’s license, and all financial obligations must be cleared, to obtain their diplomas. Diplomas will not be mailed home. a. Any graduate who borrowed a cap and gown unit must return it undamaged by Friday, June 10th by 12:00pm in order to receive their diploma. We have always had a respectful, fun, and dignified ceremony, and we remind you to have pride

HONOR GRADUATES

Honor Graduates will be confirmed after the 2nd Progress Report which closes on 4/24/22.

Honor graduates will then receive a special sash, free of charge.

CAPS and GOWNS

Graduates purchase their Cap and Gown through jostens.com.
Distribution will be June 2nd and 3rd, before school, lunch, and after school in front of the ASB room.
7:30am to 8:30am 3:30pm to 4:30pm. See below for more info.

Los graduados compran su toga y birrete a través de jostens.com.

SENIOR CHECKOUT

Graduates will return Chromebooks, return textbooks, pay fines, purchase yearbooks, and more in May and early June. Tuesday, June 7th is the LAST DAY to do that.

CAP + GOWN DISTRIBUTION
If students have paid all fines, returned all items, then they will receive their Cap and Gown. Otherwise, they will be sent to finance or textbook office.

All Seniors will be here to see their classmates and peers receive awards from departments, counseling, and more.
