Each year the North Coastal Consortium for Special Education Community Advisory Committee presents awards for Excellence in Special Education.
In 2013 the Community Advisory Committee introduced a new award for employers.
San Marcos Unified School District WorkAbility 1 business partners have received
the Employer Award each year since its inception.

2018 - Dallas King - manager of the Fairfield Inn & Suites, San Marcos
2017 - Cindy Wassenaar - manager of Petco, San Marcos
2016 - Steve Kruger – manager of the Elephant Bar Restaurant, San Marcos
2015 - Heather Stewart and Lorena Brady – managers of Marshalls, San Marcos
2014 - our five San Marcos CVSHealth stores and their managers
2013 - Diane Wheeler – manager of Dogtopia, San Marcos
