This course covers selected authors and works from the literature of Spain and Latin America. Focus is on the understanding and analysis of literary texts. The course prepares students to understand lectures and participate in discussions conducted in Spanish, do close reading of Spanish texts of all genres, and analyze both orally and in writing the form and content of works, including poetry. Instruction is differentiated in order to provide the depth, complexity, novelty, and pacing required by State gifted standards and to pre­pare students for the Advanced Placement program.
