Freshman Orientation Next Tuesday, August 11th!

Hello 9th Grade Families!

We are excited to welcome our newest Grizzlies to Mission Hills High School! Freshman Orientation is coming up on Tuesday, August 11, and our Link Crew Leaders have been working hard to make it a fun and welcoming start to high school.

Orientation begins at 8:30 AM in the Pavilion (Basketball Gym).

What is Link Crew?
Link Crew is a student leadership program designed to help freshmen make a successful transition to high school. Each freshman will be placed in a small group led by trained 11th and 12th grade Link Crew Leaders. Throughout orientation, students will get to know other freshmen, learn more about Mission Hills, and have a chance to ask questions and get comfortable on campus before the first day of school.

A few things to know before Orientation:

• Students should arrive at the Pavilion by 8:30 AM.
• Students do not need to bring a backpack or school supplies.
• Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Orientation includes activities and movement throughout the morning.
• We encourage students to keep their phones put away during orientation so they can fully participate and connect with their group.
• Before orientation, students may receive a call from one of their Link Crew Leaders introducing themselves and sharing a few details about the morning. Don’t be surprised if you see a call from an unfamiliar number!

Orientation is designed specifically for our incoming freshmen. One of the best parts of the morning is giving students the opportunity to experience campus, meet their Link Leaders, and start building connections with their classmates on their own.

We know starting high school can bring a mix of excitement and nerves, and our goal is for every freshman to leave orientation feeling a little more comfortable, connected, and excited to be a Grizzly.

We are also excited to invite you to our Freshman Parent Orientation on Tuesday, August 11th, from 8:45 AM to 10:45 AM in the MHHS Theater. This event is specifically designed for parents who are new to Mission Hills High School to help you navigate this exciting transition.

Event Schedule & Highlights:
• 8:45 AM – 10:45 AM: Parent Orientation presentation in the Theater.
• After the Presentation: Meet & Greet with our new Principal and Assistant Principals.
• Resource Fair & Performances: Explore our Resource Fair to learn more about our school programs, resources, and student support services, plus catch exciting performances by our Cheer team!
