Statement of Purpose:
It is my goal to prepare all our student Grizzlies for student success; to be responsible, independent, thoughtful and creative young adults who reach their full potential academically, socially, physically and emotionally. I believe all students are scholars and will meet or exceed academic proficiencies, prepared to excel in college, military or career and beyond. To ensure students attain success it is imperative I support the MH staff by being a competent, fully engaged leader who will seek to understand, who holds high personal regard and will follow-through in my actions connected to student success.
Where I came from:
 
I was born in San Diego and grew up in San Marcos. I graduated from SMHS in '95

Where I Went to College:
I graduated from University of California San Diego in 2000 with a BS in Biochemistry and Cellular Biology. In 2001 I earned my single subject life science and chemistry credential from California State University San Marcos. In 2007 I completed my MA in Education with an emphasis in Education Administration.

Statement of Purpose:
I believe that what we do as educators begins and ends with students. As an administrator, my purpose is to serve our school in every capacity I can so that our students  will become future ready leaders and role models for our society. 
Where I came from…
I was born in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, but grew up in Encinitas, CA. I graduated from La Costa Canyon High School in 2005 and went to school in San Luis Obispo before returning home to north county San Diego in 2008. 
Where I Went to College:
After high school I studied at Cuesta Community College in San Luis Obispo, CA. I transferred to and graduated from California State University, San Marcos with a BA in Social Sciences (emphases in Political Science and Sociology). After spending 5 years in non-profit education, I earned my Multiple Subject Credential and Single Subject Credential in English. In 2021, I completed my MA in Education with an emphasis in Education Administration.
My Career in Education: 
I started my career in education as a Title I and ASSETs Site Coordinator with Oceanside Unified School District and San Diego Unified School Districts (Cesar Chavez Middle School, Jefferson Middle School, Laurel Elementary and Kearny Mesa High School). After receiving my teaching credential, I became a teacher with Escondido Union School District at Mission Middle School, where I  taught English, English Language Development, and History of World Civilizations. In 2021 I became an Assistant Principal with San Marcos Unified School District at La Mirada Academy (K-8), and in October of 2022 I started in my current role as Assistant Principal at Mission Hills High School.

Statement of Purpose: 
I believe that the most important part of our work as educators is the relationships we develop with both our students, their families, and our colleagues. As an assistant principal, I leverage my relationships with my colleagues to best support them into providing the most effective, supportive, and responsive environments for their students. I utilize my connectedness to the community to provide a more inclusive experience for our stakeholders. I build upon the relationships I’ve developed with our staff to support their own development as educators. I am a perpetual learner, and I am honored to uphold the the responsibility to be an equity-driven leader with a clear vision for student success and belonging.
Where I Came From:
I was born in Ventura, CA. I went to school in Davis, CA, and moved to San Diego in 2008. 
Where I Went to College:
I began my college experience at Ventura Community college. I transferred to UC Davis where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in English, Single Subject Teaching Credential (English, Social Studies), and a Masters in Education. I received my Admin Credential from Cal State San Marcos.
My Career in Education: 
I began my career in SDUSD, where I spent 7 years at both the middle and high school levels as an English, ESL, and US History teacher. I moved to North County in 2016 and began working at Mission Hills. Here, I've taught English 9, English 9H, English 10, AP Lang, Journalism, and Video Production as the Student Media Adviser. I also served as Department Team Leader and a hurdles coach for the Track and Field team. I was selected as the Teacher of the Year for the 2021-2022 school year, and I now serve this community as an Assistant Principal.
