What is athletic training?
Athletic training encompasses the prevention, examination, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of emergent, acute, or chronic injuries, illnesses and medical conditions.

Head Athletic Trainer: Leah Sturdevant, MA, ATC
Leah Sturdevant was born and raised in San Diego. She studied Kinesiology at San Diego State University where she obtained her Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology with emphasis in Athletic Training and completed the AT Education program. She continued on at SDSU to earn her Master’s degree in Kinesiology with emphasis in rehabilitation sciences. In her early years as an AT she taught Kinesiology courses at Miramar College and SDSU. In addition she worked as an AT at many different levels including semi-pro, NCAA DI, junior college, and other secondary schools prior to landing here at Mission Hills High School in 2020.
