Attendance

Absences were extensive last year, we will be proactively monitoring this year.

State law requires pupils to attend their assigned classes every day school is in session.

Students who arrive late to school must have a parent/guardian contact attendance PRIOR to arriving on campus.

Off Campus Pass Procedures – All students must have an OCP to leave campus during school hours.
Parent/Guardian must call at least 1 hour prior to the student's release from class.

Consequences:

Any student missing more than 30 days for any one class in a semester may not receive credit for that class. All absences not cleared by a note or parent phone call to the attendance office within 72 hours will be considered truant and the student may be assigned a Saturday School.
Students with unexcused absences will be referred to an Assistant Principal for interventions and attendance make-up through Saturday School. Excessive unexcused absences and/or truancies will result in referral to the School Attendance Review Board (SARB).

Legally Excused Absences
(Education Code 48205). Reasons include, but not limited to:
-- Personal illness or quarantine
-- Illness or death in the immediate family
-- Medical and dental appointments
-- Funerals
-- Call to court/detained by law enforcement
-- Employment interview
-- Observation of a holiday or religious ceremony

Upon written request of the parent or guardian and approval of the Principal or his/her designee and pursuant to Board Policy, a student’s personal justifiable absence may be excused.

If your student was marked absent in error, please have your student contact the teacher. The teacher must then email or call the Attendance Office with the correction. Your student is responsible for speaking to the teacher to clear these absences.

As per school policy, classes cannot be interrupted during Final Exams. Passes will not be delivered to students during Finals. If you wish your student to leave early, please call our office early enough that your student can pick up their pass prior to class beginning or during break.

Please partner with us and ensure you have your child to school DAILY and on TIME.
